I have SPL in my inspectors list listed as unknown inspector, but on M1903 rifles only from the 1917 to 1920 period.
Edit: maybe it was Stanley P. Gibbs (later "SA" over "SPG" stamp, especially...
I don't know what the hammer price was since they only display the full price with premium, and I honestly also don't know the true value of a Service rifle sold via DCM. But I don't think that I did...
The SVC rifle sold for $ 999 including buyers premium. The NM rifle was from the National Matches of 1919. I know because I'm the one who bought both of them :).
Pretty sure I will anyway need it again myself so good to post it here ... this is the abbrevation list of SRS for the M1903 rifles:
1901 = M1901

45ACC = .45 ACP Accuracy Gun

While not connected, it falls in the same category: the Austrian Army during trials decided for the Steyr pistol design with stripper clips than for the P.08 design mainly because a soldier was not...
Very nice, thank you for the great pictures and the documentation!
Lothar Walther in Germany used to made "reduction rounds" for a long time. These are popular with hunters, especially when something is caught in a trap and can't escape. You can use the small round...
Glad to know it got a good home. And if you are ever fed up with it, just drop me a line :icon_wink: .
Would you mind letting us know how much you paid for it?
What a nice rifle, make sure you can buy it! I would jump inmediately on such a beautiful piece!
A true bargain for the buyer, but you did not know what the buyers maximum bid would had been. Possibly you could had driven him also to $ 6000.
Your scope is a commercial scope. It was never used on a military rifle, or on a SS rifle. Since these scopes were made not consecutively serialized it is my personal belief the pictured scope dates...
Bought this Remington 513T US Property marked .22 rifle and was surprised to find out it has an Ordnance marking on the stock. I have two more of them already, but neither of those two bear this...
Two stupid with one idea, right ... ?
Steve once came up with that question to me to check my A5 scopes for that ... turned out of my probably 10 Winchester A5 scopes at least two of them had this...
Hey Emri, you'll notice the official scopes by having removed the ring which interferes with the bolt. I hope I didn't tell too much with telling this in public, however...
My selective fire WRA M14 is set up nearly identically, the only difference is that my mount and scope are both original. They could be twins!
The last picture shows it in comparison with an IDF...
Despite the ongoing conflict I need to mention that it had been a very long time since I have learnt so much on a forum and seen so many documents. Steve, thank you for a great educational hour and...
Hoffer-Thompson?
Forward Dave the pictures and tell him my name and contact details, in case the rifle turns up! And yes, I was referring to the mount in front (a WRA comparison with the rear being an IDF sniper).
I have a M84 on M1C mount on M14 adaptor on a WRA M14 fully selective fire .. but if you're going to part with the other adaptor........
This little toy to my surprise turned up in Germany. I thought I need to get it, and finally received it yesterday. Note that they used brass shims to raise the rings for what I believe the rubber...
Second and last set of pictures.
I hope the title attracted enough interest to read this thread - especially since it basically is, what the title already promises!
Being asked on a M1917 sniper by a friend of mine if I knew...
We were successful in making a deal, and I'm now very pleased that my search for a cutaway model was not only at first overfilled with a complete one but also accompanied by a cutaway model now.
A bolt coded "J5" should be correct for a Mark I rifle.
