Had a HS teacher who told of shooting at Germans on the other side of a river. Scared 'em off but he said they weren't in any danger from the carbine rounds. Suppose if you got hit with one there might be some dispute.

C. Shore in his book With British Snipers to the Reich thought the M1 carbine was great out to 300 yards
