The price y?all gave, would that be for the slide or complete pistol
    Thanks
A nice original finish blued 1911A1 slide will sell for $1500. Find the guy that has the receiver that the serial number matches and it doubles in value to him.

Original finish slide from 1937 Colt 1911A1. The military did not order a pistol between 1924 and 1937, and in 1937 ordered 2349 pistols. The 1924 pistols were Model of 1911 with modifications, and in 1926 the military decided to change their model designation to Model 1911A1. When the pistols were ordered in 1937 they forgot to change the drawings which showed the MODEL OF 1911 U.S.ARMY marking on the right side of the slide.

This is an original finish slide from the 1937 order, serial number 711059.

Thank you thought the early original finish slides were pricey, mine does lack the “Model of U.S.Army 1911” ?

As noted in my post, this was only on the 1937 slides.
