M1A bipod manufacturer??

Hi, have had this bipod for many years. Stamped "US W.M.I. Bipod rifle M2". The letters "N.C. are inside of one of the side ears.
Anybody identify this mfg??

"Wayne Machine Inc...Taiwanese bipod maker" thus, not U.S. made, but repro.

I welcome any other info as I'm only doing web searches.
