Do Mount Rainier (MR) rebuild markings have a period after the letters i.e. M.R. or are they san period i.e. MR? Are they consistent in where and how they are marked, as well as letter size and font?

"There's a race of men that don't fit in,
A race that can't stay still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin,
And they roam the world at will." - Robert Service
Sold one of these about 10 years ago, -- MR-- near serial number grey parkerized finish-- Nice pistol but well worn before rebuild-- All I remember, had mostly WW II 1911A1 parts on this pistol ! Letters appeared to be hand struck- Maybe you have the same 1911 !

As mentioned, I believe the MR was struck with separate letters and had no period. It was struck below and to the left of the serial number.
A fellow collector was good enough to furnish a photo of his Ithaca with two Mount Rainier Arsenal stamps.
