Interesting read on how a Piat saved the day on D-day.

Don't subscribe and can't get it online.
Did find an article on the L39A1/L42A1 though. So perhaps this thread won't go to waste. Eh Scott?

Interesting as I have both the L39A1 and a L42A1 but no live ammo for my PIAT (except for one dummy round)
Sorry. In my mind, Fireams News (the old Shotgun News) is a mainstream publication. You guys are makin me feel old. My fascination with the Piat has a lot to do with it's ability to inflict significant damage on both the operator and the enemy. Not sure I could even carry one very far today.
Might be mainstream but I haven't bought an issue in over 30 years.
You feel old? I've heard it said John is William Wallace's Great Grandpa!

Maybe Blind Hary will write about it?
