  1. Default Value: Colt Service Ace 1941

Hello! I wanted to get a ballpark value on a Colt a local shop has. It is a blued Colt Service Ace .22 matching slide numbered to frame, appears all correct. Lots of wear and scratches, I'd say 60%. I believe made in 1941.

Four digit Serial # SM 25** WB inspection marked.

    Shop is asking $2,400.00

    Thanks!

They seldom come up for sale, can't say I have ever seen one. 2400? I would not be surprised at all if worth that. I have a Colt .22 conversion unit on a commercial frame, probably cost me 5-600 years ago, when I put it together. That's as close as I will ever come to having an Ace!

Too rich for me. I guess I'll never own one.

I sold one for a customer last year. It was a 1940, WB inspected, all original but with very little finish left. The surfaces were smooth with no pitting. What I would call an excellent candidate for a finish restoration. I valued it at about $1500 to maybe $2000. I put it on a Gunbroker auction and it realized over $3000 but I think it sold for too much. There were 2 guys that wanted it and one finally quit bidding, so don't think the final price was realistic for a piece offered at a fixed price. The one you are looking at for $2400 may be priced at the high end, but as stated, they don't come up for sale very often. It all depends on how badly someone wants it.
