    interesting demontration. Thanks for posting. Only thing questionable is just how widely distributed was the so-called adapter for the scope base that reportedly replaced the leaf on the standard K98k rear sight.

    Good point. These guys seemed to speculate that the originals were issued by the bushel. If so, where did all the scopes and especially all the adapters all go? At the very least, there should be a ga-zillion rifles with the adapters still in place, you'd think. Anyway, there's an embedded link to the Sarco page that offers all of this stuff, including both mounts, as reproductions, and evidently in stock.

    One of the two guys has an interesting website, worth checking out for those not familiar with it. He occasionally does some high speed photography that's interesting indeed:

    There was no "adopter", the mount was on the side of the sight band. The so called "adopter" never existed in real life!
