Bought this today at a antique shop. It is massive almost 13 inches overall. The scabbard is super high quality and the knife itself is pretty well made. The guard is marked Wells 8-5-44. Blade is 8 inches long and about 1 7/8 wide at the base.

On page 58 of Wrights book there are two very similar but unnamed knives. Have to be the same maker they are so much alike. Wells is probably the maker who that is no one knows anymore. I bet these were made in a repair shop at a Navy base in the Pacific.
Hello!
Do you still have this knife?
I have it's twin only, mine has a brass D-guard, but the blade, handle, and sheath are the same (Or at least uncannily similar)
Wanting to find out more. Hoping you still frequent this forum.
Trying to put up a picture.
Thanks
Looks neat. I'd like to have one like that myself.
