    Default Model 97

Hey folks. I know this 97 is not a military gun but I thought I would post and see what you folks think of this idea I've been kicking around. A buddy of mine is trying to talk me into modifying this into a trench gun and another friend who is a gun smith advised against it as it's all original matching numbers even the butt plate. Serial number is 3020xx from about 1907. Has a 30" barrel with a full choke...nice turkey shoot gun. I'm leaning toward keeping it as it is. What do you all think? Regards Rich

It's your gun and you can do what ever you think is right. It will never be a real trench gun and for me I like originality. I have a 97 riot from 29 or 30 and it must have been kept in the arms locker.

    Leave it as is!

Leave it alone! If you want a trench gun, go get yourself the real deal! However, like joem says, it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it.
