    Smile new to me Mauser what do I have??

    ON the receiver crest is "CESKOSLOVENSKA"
    BROJOVKA
    BRNO

    Side of the receiver is E2759 the serial #

    it is a straight bolt 29 inch barrel in 8X57

    Let me know if it is a rare and worth lots of money

    You probably have a model 98/22, adopted by the Czechs in 1922 and also made for export. In 1923 a new model was adopted (VZ-23, 24" barrel) and these were sold to turkey which also purchased new made 98/22's. The E pre-fix indicates it is one of the new ones made for Turkey, not a surplus ex-Czech rifle. Condition is everything and these are almost sure to be miss-matched and fair to good condition. The Turks were hard on rifles and they are old, after all. Value 150-200 or 'lil more. Not rare, dealers are still selling these and they can be found at most gun shows. Serial number should be on stock, barrel, reciever and bolt.

    A rifle used by Turkey. Many model Mausers going back over a hundred years. Well used and put away wet!
