Just starting to go through hundreds of parts I got from my father. A bolt that stood out, 1903 with a straight handle. it has J 6 under the safety lug and a single punch mark under the handle.
Is this of any value?
Thank you

Take another look - it is probably a J5. Dates from about 1918 and is double heat-treated
"We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst."
--C.S. Lewis
Yes it is J5, is this correct for a sa sn 1236427
A little "early", unless it was used as a replacement when the rifle was rebuilt.
