This 1917 Enfield is made up of Remington and Eddystone parts. The receiver was made in April of 1918 and the barrel is dated 11-18. The components and the rifle overall have the appearance of being put together and not being used very much. I've seen a lot of 1917's over the last forty odd years and this rifle appears to me to have its original finish and coloration. Was this rifle initially assembled from both Remington and Eddystone parts (they were both Remington run of course) about the time the war ended and then the rifle just wasn't sent overseas to Europe?
