Frog attachment?

I saw this ad for a M1917 Remington bayonet and am intrigued by the knob on the upper end of the scabbard. I am only familiar with the wire hook hanger made for web belts and therefore wonder if there was some sort of frog that attaches to this protruding knob/button. Thanks, Chaz

That appears to be an English/Commonwealth type scabbard and it does indeed require a frog.

That is a British Pattern 1907 scabbard (WWI version by the teardrop-shaped frog stud; WWII version had a circular frog stud). In addition to being used for the Lee-Enfield's Pattern 1907 bayonet, the scabbard was used for the bayonet of the Pattern 1914 (the .303 caliber predecessor of the M1917). But, the combination in the auction is not correct. The bayonet should have an American scabbard.

I agree with both of the above posts. Correct bayonet wrong scabbard.
