    Default Old needle bayonet question

I found this needle bayonet in a pawn shop yesterday. At first glance I thought it was for a Trapdoor rifle. It is about the same length as my trapdoor bayonet, has 4 groves on the needle part, but the way it locks to the rifle is very different. I got the best pictures of the locking mechanism that I could. It was priced at $25 with no scabbard. I don't know if this is a good deal or not until I figure out what it goes on. Any thoughts?

It's a Russian Bayonet. Fits the Model 1891 Moisin-Naganat bolt action rifle (and a few other variations). They were not issued with scabbards. It has a fluted blade, and a point that looks like a flathead screw driver. They are fairly easy and cheap to find. Have seen prices run from $10-$35. SKIP

You are right, the point did look like a flathead screw driver. Thanks for the help.
