    Default Mauser tall front sights

    Does anyony know of a source for these?

    Brownell's has several. product #'s 011-001-065WB & 078-050-000WB. Note that these are NOT GI, but something that people use so that they can shoot to point of aim @ 100yds, or whatever. After installation they'll likely shoot low, so you VERY CAREFULLY file them down so as to bring the point of impact up to where you want it. There's a formula floating around which factors in the distance between the front and rear sights, distance to the target, ect ; the result giving you an APPROXIMATE figure as to how much needs to come off. But remember, you can always take more off, but you can't put it back on.

    I used to take an original sight and gas weld a little more metal on the top, then file it down. Takes about 1/8" IIRC.
