Thread: SA Bayonets

    Default SA Bayonets

Have two SA Bayonets. One dated 1906, SN 119323. Blue finish and never sharpened. Only a partial scabbarb. In a wood scabbard with raw-hide cover laced on back with raw-hide. The other is a SA dated 1917, SN 763468. Also still blue and never sharpened. In canvas scabbard, leather tip, dirty but in good condition. I know nothing about bayonets. Came into these two a few years back kinda by accident. Can anyone enlighten me as to what I have and are they worth the $50.00 I have invested. Thanks in advance.

Both together could be worth 10x that, we need pics.. at $50 you stole these even if refinished.

If the blades are blued they have been refinished. Neither left the factory with a blued blade.

The 1917 date would have been blued when it was manufactured, the other one bright blade with blue hilt. Depending on condition and other factors, the pair may well be worth the $500 mentioned.
