    The rifle had a replacement short wrist stock and an 1879 rear sight.
    The bore had Five grooves and Did have Eagle Head and P proof stamps on it.

    Damn - I sacrificed my only 5-groove barrel (which isn't SA anyway) when I restored my M1882 28"B XTRB 197404 last year. If I'd only known I could have sold it to Fred I might have gone another route.. Naaahhh - Fred and I are old friends . . . . . .
