Default SRS Check Please on Colt Custer?s Avengers Era SAA

Serial number is 17634. I believe it shipped on January 4, 1875. I was told it is recorded in Colt Cavalry & Artillery Revolvers, A Continuing Study by John A. Kopec, but I do not own the book in order to verify.

    Thanks, Bill

Not in SRS. Will check Kopec when I have more time.

Serial numbers 17610 and 17749 are recorded in the index and pictured, but no 17634. Do you have information as to where is is found in Kopec?

Johnny P, he did not say where, specifically, only that:
"this gun is listed, by serial number 17634, in Kopec & Fenn's book "Cavalry and Artilley Revolvers, A Continuing Study" as being one of the "J" (Johnson) 1875 ordnance sub-inspected models."

I'll try to find out more from him.

Went back and looked at Chapter III which deals with serial number range 15,191 to 19,542, and found no mention of your serial number.

Got the information from the original source, after all. Thanks.
