Annual maintenance on all safe queens. Started the morning with a Romanian WASR-3. What a hoot. Never skips a beat and is just always reliable. Loves all 5.56 ammo including bulk packaged green tip. Clean , dirty, makes no difference, she always seems to work and is easy as pie to field strip for maintenance.

WASRs are some of the most under rated rifles. They are actually one of the better current AK clones, as you said, very durable, reliable and can be surprisingly accurate. Also, if you bought one, especially a WASR 10 right after the assault weapons ban ended, dirt cheap. Unfortunately they aren't that cheap any more. Rob-ski on the AK You Tube channel has over 10,000 rounds through a vintage WASR 10 and it was still, at last report, going strong and shooting straight. He said he takes it to shoots and training sessions to loan to shooters whose newer US made AK clones break down.

My Romaniun WASR 10 underfolder cal. 762 functions great. A lot of Vietnam combatants carried the AK47 over the M16.
