Default Isn't an atmospheric river just a rain storm?

I remember the El Nino or Ninya, whatever from about 1980. It was a 200 yr. flood. Not kidding, it rained every night, right on que. Roads got washed away. A bridge almost got washed away. They built a higher bridge afterwards. So far this yhear's snow is lame compared to last year. Maybe we get a small atmospheric river. There probably are different sizes.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

You have to use the scientific description to show how smart you are.
Only ordinary people say rain storm even though it's more accurate.

Atmospheric river is just a "Progressive Tweak" of something previously known to make it more scary.
    "Gulf Stream" anybody
    "Jet Stream" maybe

Its a little known fact that more people drown in a desert than die of thirst!
Arabic version: "Never walk in The Wadi"!
Tex-mex version:"Don't dawdle in the arroyo". same difference

And as Elbert Hubbard said, "For such people, Destiny waits around the corner with a shoed club."
