I remember reading that as the Revolution got moving, a statue of King Geo. was melted down and the lead recast into musket balls. In this case, I doubt the bronze will be used for anything that will contribute meaningfully to the future of our nation. Do wonder, how will these folks who celebrate a criminal react if/when statues, etc., they value are removed/destroyed. After all, if a timid city council and its supporters can do such a thing with a statue of Gen. Robert E. Lee, it is entirely to be expected that a similar action can be taken by others to remove monuments to which they object. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.
