Default Another Era coming to an end ? ...

The first video player I had was a Betamax, but that
system was ousted by the new VHS system, which
was in turn ousted by the new DVD system, which
was partly replaced by the new Blue-Ray system.
Between all these came the Lazer Disc system which
had a relatively short life. Now it looks as though the
latest Blue -Ray discs are on the long road leading to
    extinction.
I no longer have a Betamax although I still have about
a 100 tapes somewhere in a box, but I still have my VHS,
DVD, Blue-Ray & Lazer players. People are quick to dump
their present system in favor of the latest fad. That's
when I buy them for a few dollars.

In many ways I prefer VHS over DVD.

I think VHS was killed with the digital TV mandate.

Not to mention Apple cell phones. New models every year plus higher cost. My Samsung performs as well or better than my daughter's I phone.
