Commodore Dogtag would know how to deal with this. And someone will. Statutes are still on the books and it's in 33 CFR.

'The Master, Chief Officer or others so designated, may use force, including deadly force, to protect the vessel, its crew OR CARGO'.

That moldy dinner roll was the ship's, Valjean.

It's a wonder. $100,000 boats just 'tied' to the dock.
    - In their hurry to unmake civilization, social justice warriors have gone so soft on crime that it’s starting to become profitable again, at least in California.-
unmake civilization, there's a cool term.

Organized shoplifting or otherwise is a 100 billion dollar problem. Some liberal weirdos call it 'a quality of life crime'. That means if you feel you don't have nice things because you are poor it's OK to steal it. Some politicians have said, 'it doesn't hurt anyone'.

Crime is crime. If you steal a candy bar it's still a crime. You make rules and enforce them. Isn't that quaint.

There's only one punishment for a Pirate - well, apart from hanging,
being hung drawn and quartered, keel hauling or throat slitting -
    Make 'em Walk the Plank.
