    Default Stared carbine

Question on values of stared carbines.
I?m looking at a nice carbine manufactured in 1881. It was not updated for the SAW so it still retains the last type buckhorn rear sight with slot less screws. The cleaning rods and HSE is included.
    Asking price is 2150.00
My question is do stared carbines command a higher selling price than a standard carbine?
I have a stared carbine updated for the SAW with both barrel and stock with a NJ cartouche. It?s in nice condition but the bore has some pitting at the muzzle. I purchased that carbine for less than half of this one but it was rather crudely and no cleaning rods plus it was maybe 4 years ago??
    Thanks for any opinions.

I would say the star detracts, even if only slightly, rather than adds to the value. ALL else being equal, I would take a regular over a star. I guess that's about the going rate for a carbine these days.
