Riders of the Purple Sage was made into a movie. Liked it. Have enjoyed some other ZG titles that were the basis for movies. Hopefully the ZG books can be found on audio. Sincerely. bruce.

I am going get the Deer Stalker (1925) tomorrow at the library...sounds like a great classic western..
As a 10-14 year old kid, I read every one I could find at the local city library in Clarksville AR had most if not all. If you haven?t been to your public library in years, give it a try, you may be surprised. The one here can often find and import out of print books from other libraries.
Some were made into movies and a bunch were the source of the plot of shoot-em-up Saturday afternoon western.
Thanks for posting this.
Looks like Mr. Grey knew his firearms well too.

That '95 looks like a '92 carbine next to him in that photo.

???? Looks like a '95 to me.
I would recommend Louis L'amour's books starting with the Sackett series. I have them all
and read them in order every few years. Great winter reading. Best Wishes.
^ this! great reading!
The receiver is so different from a '92 though with the 2 piece handle, the extended box mag, no mag tube, and overall shape. Even the forearm is different on the '95.
We still have my Dad's '95 carbine chambered in 30 Govt (30-40 Krag), a '94 30-30 SRC made in 1907 and a few Rossi '92's in 357 and 44 mag along with my Marlin 336T in 30-30.
