  1. Default Browning

The Guns of John Moses Browning. Nathan Gorenstein.
The author discusses Browning's creations in terms a non-shooter can understand and realize why they are significant. While the evolution of the guns sets the timeline the theme is how the brothers working together established the company. John was the creative genius but one brother drove the business and a third turned out the hand made prototypes which clinched the sales. The difference between Winchester's contracts and those with FN and Colt are examined and reviewed to show how they were source of the money to found the company. Gorenstein follows their lives until the day John died in Herstal and then switches to the story of his guns at war, telling of a few instances in which they starred.

His choice of which gun made the greatest contribution to freedom is interesting.
