part at rear of forend

no4 mk1 savage, what is the name of part at the end of the forend at the butt socket and how is it held in place ?

are you referring to the strap and pin that go across the back of the forearm to hold it together (helps keep it from splitting) ??

that must be it ,I guess that the brass pin is peened in place, what is it called so I can look for one ?
