in the SRS books 14281 MT 090344 USN - SOLOMONS MD

So serial number ,date ,navy, all pretty clear, but what does MT mean? some other pistols say WOOD in that same column while other pistols may say ACE or UMC or SMACE still others say SUPER and X? Please I've had no luck with these abbreviations ...

For some reason it was connected to Solomons, Maryland on September 3, 1944, with the U.S. Navy. Probably just an inventory of weapons there.

Solomons, Maryland was a training site for amphibious landings during WWII.

Thanks I do understand all of it except one column in the SRS data that has MT for this gun other pistols say WOOD in that same column while other pistols may say ACE or UMC or SMACE still others say SUPER and X? always in this column next to serial number.

My questions is what does the MT denote????

According to the information at the bottom of the page it is not a Model 1911, but a Colt Match Target .22.

WOOD is for Colt Woodsman .22.

I didn't look up the number until your second post.
