Default Best way to "clean" a HBAR gas tube?

Can I clean the gas tube by dropping old "Shooter's Choice" while the upper receiver hangs muzzle down and then using a long brush to scrub the interior? The fire five rounds to clear and dry the tube?

This is the original tube when made or just change it out?

Thinking of attending an upcoming 800 agg. match.

    Thanks.

if you feel it is that dirty, just blow some cleaner thru it (no pipe cleaners) and the follow that up with air,

it's pretty much a self cleaning system

When I had my Smith replace the bbl on my AR15 Match gun 2 years ago after 4500 rnds, he whined about how much crud he had to scrape out of the upper receiver to get the gastube loose. I had never attemped to clean the tube in normal maintenance.
He didn't suggest any cure for this problem and he used my original gastube on the new installation so apparently it didn't involve any functional issue.
