Thread: AR triggers

    Default AR triggers

I have a pre ban Bushmaster police trade in I bought several years ago and am only now just getting around to tinkering with. (Other projects got in the way)
Anyway, this rifle has the WORST trigger of any rifle I have ever owned in 50 years, and I have owned some real crap.

I'd like to upgrade this trigger, but don't want to spend a fortune. Timney's Impact AR Trigger is about as high as i want to go. Anyone have any experience with this trigger?
    Thanks

    no experience with that model,

I have a Jewel in a Service Rifle that is a very nice trigger, and the bomb circa 2004

I also have a similar vintage Bushmaster with the 2 stage trigger, that is actually quite nice

however I have RRA 2 stage NM in several of my other AR's that is very very nice

I have a RR 2stage, LaRue 2stage and an ALG nibor coated one. If I can find another lower I may try one of Wilson's drop in triggers.

Palmetto has a drop in in stock at $79. It breaks at 3.5 lbs. I've got three of them in my rifles. I like them.

ALG triggers are pretty good but a little stiff. I have two for the ACT triggers in my A2s.

I installed a Timney a couple of months ago and am very happy with it, very clean and a measured 3.4 pounds. I got mine on sale from Brownell's for $120. A friend had let me try a Rise trigger and it had continuous reset problems.

I have a timney and a cmc drop in trigger that are 3.0 pounds. bought them at PSA (palmetto state armory) the timney was on sale at the time for about 149, the cmc was about 99 bucks. they both work better then any stock trigger. You get your choice of STRAIGHT or curved bow.

Wondering if any of you AR folks are using a JARD set trigger? Just ordered one to go along with my Uintah precision bolt AR.
