    Though not from DCM/CMP . . . .
I remember vividly, “nickel a round” back in the late 50’s, early 60’s.
Some guys at the gun club would also trade two carbine rounds for one M2.
Surplus ammo was as plentiful as water or air.

I was given opportunity to buy M2 for that price, $200 per case. Each case had 4 cans of 192 rounds in clips and on bandoleers. I was a fool and bought only 5 cases, 3 for me and 2 for dad. Would that I had bought 50 cases not 5!

Oh well, at least I have some brass for some while.

Hi, I was paying $115 for spam cans in 2015 and $136 for 200 loose in the same time frame. I believe they shortly ran out. The earliest was in 2009 at $75 for 192 rds in clips, regards, Mike

PS: just to be clear I have the original invoices from the CMP

i want to say $79 or $179 for a case of 2 .50cal cans with 400 rounds in the brown boxes (20per box). i bought 2 cases of it and have one full case and i THINK 3 boxes left from the other case...

its quite accurate in my garand with a criterion barrel...

bought it at the National Matches in 01
