    It was part of the mess kit I was issued in basic training in 1959.
    Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

    U.S. Army mess knife with pre-forms for handles by the Bakleite Co, same as the plastic Navy bayonet blades and cross guards.
