M1905 bayonet

Any thoughts about this M1905 bayonet? The blade looks darker than the close up of the ricasso -- kind of reminds me of the Greek "blue" of the CMP 1903s from the early 2000s. Any chance this is an original "blued" 1917/18 bayonet? Kind of rough but I guess it's a placeholder until I come across a nicer one...

The only two method of bluing available in 1917 was rust blue and heat blue. Hard to tell the exact color from the photo, but appears to be rust blue. If it had gone through rebuild after 1917 it would be phosphate.

+1 with the three comments above. The kind of wear you mentioned is common on bayonets because the scabbard protects the blade. Your bayonet looks fine to me.

I like well used stuff, it has history. If it were mine I'd hold on to it even after I found a prettier one for that reason alone.
