    Default Springfield M1A

Looking at these rifles, I noted that none of them have the bayonet lug on the flash suppressor. Is it possible to instal an original G.I. suppressor with lug on these rifles?

loosen the locking nut, then loosen the castle nut (actually unscrew it completely) with the flash hider,

reverse to install the new one,

    easy peasy

Interesting and irritating to hear they are going PC and leaving them off. Has anyone ever used a bayonet mounted rifle in a crime? We just want our actual and replica military rifles to look right.

SA cut off the lugs back in the 90's to comply with the Assault Weapons Ban,

Any accessory that fits an issue M-14 will fit an M1A. As mentioned, bayonets for some daft reason have become evil things. Some jurisdictions think they only come on "assault rifles". Despite the fact that neither an M-14 or M1A is an assault rifle, you need to check your local laws.
"...they are going PC..." When your entire business is basically based on one type of rifle, you kind of have to comply. I personally think the M1A line is grossly over priced. Mind you, they've been declared evil altogether up here. No more imports and there will eventually be a total ban and confiscation.

True but bare in mind that the threads on the Polytech and Norinco M1A's are metric for the castle nut so you have to use a Chinese nut. The problem with that is availability, so many of them were tack welded shut. When buying on sites like ebay the seller usually doesn't know what the nut came off of or that the threads are different.

That's no lie. Wonderful gift for them, banning the Norinco competition.

if you are referring to US pricing, SA is the bargain now, at least as far as new,

go price a LRB or Bula or one of the other niche makers of the M14 type,

some older SA M1A's sell high due to the build or parts content (USGI vs Commercial)

The Polytech and Norinco are neither M1A's or M-14's. Don't think the Polytech's are made any more either. And you shouldn't be using E-Bay at all. They fund the people who want to take your firearms away from you.
"...banning the Norinco..." That was Clinton. He said he was punishing China for human rights issues.
Any M1A with milsurp parts is practically an antique. SA Inc. hasn't used milsurp parts since the mid 1970s.
