Default Wimp solution to hard to cock Kel Tec subgun 2000

So this one is a straight blowback carbine with a little knob like a pushpin thumbtack. I was having a very hard time opening the bolt especially when the hammer was down. Very hard to pull it fully to the rear and lock it to the rear. Being a dentist I whipped up a gob of dental acrylic of the type used for custom impression trays, lightly Vaselined the little cocking handle knob. I shaped it as it set. The net effect is that it requires less than half the force to charge and to lock the bolt to the rear. It may be a bit long but so far it’s not seeming to be in the way. Yes I will paint it flat black! F57F4AA0-33C0-4EC8-B95D-2AFC07029A32.jpg2EC4B4A2-B76C-4831-9633-A10ADAB5F121.jpg

Pretty neat. I have 3 Sub-2000s and haven't run into that problem yet. Being in my early 70s, I suppose that is something to look forward too in future years.

Consider shorrt length of paracord tied into a loop.
Catch it around the thumb-tank knob and pull with three fingers.

What I do for using a A5 sdeer hunting with gloves in Michigan, and avoiding chewing up fingers passing over a scope mount.
