    Default Uberti 1860 Colt revolver

I own the above revolver and was wondering about the 'barrel wedge'. With it fully inserted, it seems to me that it protrudes way too far on the left side. Looks a little awkward sticking out that far. There is also a little 'gizmo' on the wedge. What's that for?

Sounds good to me. . . . .left-side “protrusion” means plenty of wedge left to allow for future wear.

That “gizmo” is the wedge “lock”. It won’t let the wedge become lost when disassembling the barrel from the arbor, and it ensures the wedge will not work itself loose when firing the revolver. It engages the barrel on the RIGHT side.

I never set the wedges in that far. Never had a problem.
