I think there was that much on the back of my T shirt.

Rifle is a Jan 1943 production and appears new internally. Not scratch or wear area anywhere. Looks to have been loaded with grease for long term storage.
Barrel gauges between 0 and 1. 12 - 42 barrel would be original.

Stock has OGEK in a box over FJA in box with ord crossed cannons just forward. Circle P on wrist. 5 in circle and 5 in a box on stock ahead of the trigger group. There is a B standing next to a B reclining on the aft part of the buttstock. Areas of the stock are quite rough. Top of the wrist area looks as though it was finished with a draw knife.

Just learning here. Jan '43 would be considered an early 03A3?

Go here to learn more about your 03A3 including manufacturing dates:

    www.M1903.com

Google OGEK and you’ll find it was Elmer Keith’s mark when he was chief Inspector 42-45 at the Ogden, UT Arsenal where your 03A3 was rebuilt.

Thanks. I have no intention of becoming all the familiar with the history, I am more into the shooting part.
