Would prefer brass, with the locking latch. They were made in several variations, as you probably know, so values vary, with the steel, push-on types being at the bottom.

One I'm planning to bid on. One of the others I already would have bought IF the seller had been willing to accept a US money order, which would have saved him Paypal fees, & me, sales tax. Most sellers would prefer to be paid that way, but this one chose to be an AH.
