Remington 1903A3

My LGS had 4 Remington 1903A3s and one 03 on the rack, 3 had replacement stocks and the fourth one had had the correct stock. I adopted the most correct stocked one, it has a milled trigger housing so I'll get that replaced soon.
My question is should the lower sling mount be flat or round stock?




This joins my Smith Corona 03A3 and a Rock Island 03.

RA is a rebuild mark, correct?

so either would be correct?

The RA on that stock is not a rebuild mark. The original early Remington A3's did not have it, but when Smith-Corona got into production the RA was added to the Remington stocks.

The lower sling swivel is round.

I'm not sure that I understand your question about "...the lower sling mount." Do you refer to the lower barrel band, or the butt swivel? Also, what do you mean by flat stock or round stock? Can you be more specific?

The swivel attached to the lower band is flat . . . .the swivel attached to the butt is round.

I meant the sling swivel I had a brain fade.

The lower band has a flat swivel. The lower (butt) swivel is round.

And the butt swivel base is stamped vs milled

If memory serves me right the upper band, stacking swivel band, stacking swivel, lower band, lower band swivel, lower band spring, butt plate, follower, and trigger housing were also stamped.
