50 70 cartridge box

I recently stumbled across a cartridge box for 50 70 cal. but did not see this maker in the books I have.
It is made by Newcomd & Lyon. It has a spring loaded bottom so that when you open the box cartridges are raised up so that you can easily pull out the round by the rim.
Is this an authentic cartridge box for 50 70?

Patent date is listed as 1867. I found several pictures just as you describe.

Gotta be super-rare. Pahaskabooks (whoever they are) must have started a long time ago and really did his research. That seller comes up with some of the BEST period stuff you will ever see on Ebay. He is not cheap - knows exactly what he has. I've never bought from him, but sure enjoy his offerings. Cannot recall the maker just now, but I have the "folding" .50-70 box which is fairly scarce.

No, mine sort of collapses, to store flat, when empty. I think it is a King. Never used by the US military, but a cool period accessory.
