Default More on NZ - antique Henry Rifle cops will not reimburse value of

My internet pal says one guy has a genuine antique 1860's Henry worth $40,000. The police won't pay the full value to take and scrap it and will not permit it to be exported for sale. The gunsmiths in NZ are all busy cutting down magazine tubes to comply with the ten round limit on ANY manually operated repeating rifle. He has had a .22 replica pump bobbed but it now fails to feed occasionally. If they bob the antique the value will be decreased and history lost. Lots of historic guns being destroyed or defaced in this persecution of our hobby down there. Even old Veterli bolt guns taking Rimfire ammo no longer available have to be destroyed.

A preview of what the dems have in store for the United States, except they won't offer to pay.

Amen -- which is why we can't let them win.

Maybe next year they'll get such a shellacking that they'll change their tune.

    WHAT???!!!!!

    Tell me it isn't so.

They are really offering less than what it is worth on a "Buy Back"?

Seriously, who didn't see this coming?

Those guns should be grandfathered. They are what they are and were made that way. Most Henry's shoot the 44 rim fire so it isn't a "threat" to anyone but of course I'm preaching to the choir here.

Typical Socialism, no respect for history-or property rights.

I've been corresponding with this guy for several years. I thought that they had a pretty near foolproof system. People there have to belong to a club and not only pass a background check but have to be vetted by the club members. There were different levels of licenses. On the lowest one you could own a Garand with the understanding you would use only 5 RD clips, and the bayonet lug had to be ground off. Succeedingly higher licenses allowed ARs, and ex military select fire guns converted to semi could be owned. Live full autos could be owned, but as in Canada, not shot.

The fact is that no matter how good a system is, eventually some goon will beat it. Whether waiting periods or background checks will help stop a determined killer is... Doubtful. Driving our guns underground by decreeing confiscation would probably make it easier for the underworld to get them... Plus other possible permutations I don't want to mention. This is why we must stand firm. Law enforcement must concentrate on criminals, not on us.

Background checks are already done here but to hear the democrats speak it doesn't exist. Their version for background checks is for no one to be eligible to buy or own guns.
