    Default Model 12 takedown 16 gauge

    First Winchester takedown in 16 gauge. Was a little concerned how well it would point with short stock, shot 24 out of 25 so I can shoot it. This is a 1948 Model field grade. I’m going to have to work on the shell latch that is misbehaveing, but it is a marvelous piece of engineering.

    prettiest shotgun made,


    I had one years ago that was bought by a local town, and cut down to 18 or 20",
    the police bought about a dozen of them,(all were dated to 41, ) in 16ga because the 12 ga guns were going to war,

    they used it for the local Civil Defense, to guard a few local places if needed,

    shoulda kept it, but didn't
