The article says many came from WW11 scrap yards. Most of these planes would have a lot of value now. Perhaps he traded them to get where he is now on the mostly 50's--70's planes. Wonder what that F-16 cost?
Too bad they didn't show his other collections but maybe they're reserved for future DM articles.
Coming from old money can be fun sometimes.
The factors that separate this collector from the rest of us is money and space. I fully understand this man's motivation.
Keep them in flying condition, then I'd be impressed.
