Thread: Silver Star

    Default Silver Star

I found this in the NYT today. Lt Ackerman 1st Battalion, 8th marine Regiment won the silver star as a platoon leader during the fighting in Fallujah. In the story he takes the paragraphs in his citation and writes what they mean, what went down. This man can WRITE!

This is some some strong stuff!

Thank you for sharing. His question about what to do with his old uniform reads like a metaphor for our engagement in those wars.

A simple taste of facing an enemy who is intent upon killing one, opens a person's soul, and exposes the basic drive to survive and destroy that enemy. Some revel in that truth, and others question and regret that it ever happened. Regards, Clark

yep, the field of battle SUX!! been there and watched my buddies get killed and die. The hospital time gave me time to "get over PTSD".
unfortunately, the VA gave it back to me!! SORRY PUKES!
