    Default Civil War Photography

    Thought you guys might enjoy seeing some photographs by Mathew Brady from the 1860s. These are known by the French term “cart de visite” and we know them as CDVs. They were the calling or business cards of the 1860s. The Union generals are Hays, Grant, Sheridan and Hancock.

    slightly off topic,


    Lee and Grant standing with the 45th Va during the 150th,

    the 45th marched from Dinwiddie Courthouse to Appomattox for the surrender,
