    Default US Combat Shotguns - My Display

    Thought I would post here the first five and the last five photos from my thread over on the M14 forum. So if you were on the fence about registering and logging in there, these might spur you to see them all.


    This is the listing of the five shotguns:

    US Combat Shotguns


    1) WW I – Shotgun - Remington Model 10-A Trench Gun, action made 1917 barrel made 1918, original wood handguard and separate bayonet lug,
    12 gauge, pump action
    Sling – model 1907 leather sling
    Bayonet - model 1917 bayonet wood grip, dull gray Remington dated 1917 (early no vent hole) w/ leather scabbard belt hooks 1st type G&K hanger dated 1917

    2) WW II – Shotgun - Winchester Model 1897 Trench Gun, made 1919 WWI solid frame refurbished to WWII configuration (butt stock and heatshield) at San Antonio Arsenal, 12 gauge, pump action
    Sling – M1 canvas sling, green
    Bayonet - model 1917 bayonet wood grip, dark Remington dated 1917
    w/ leather scabbard belt hooks 2nd type

    3) Korea – Shotgun - Winchester Model 12 Trench Gun, made 1943 refurbished at Tooele Ordinance Depot, 12 gauge, pump action
    Sling – M1 canvas sling, green
    Bayonet - model 1917 bayonet wood grip, dark Remington dated 1918
    w/ M-1917 scabbard

    4) Viet Nam – Shotgun - Ithaca Model 37 Trench Gun, made 1942, parked and refurbished at Ogden Arsenal (Utah), 12 gauge, pump action
    Sling – M1 nylon “seat belt” sling, brownish green
    Bayonet - M1917 bayonet plastic grip, medium gray Gen Cut not dated
    w/ BA Inc. M1917 scabbard

    5) Gulf – Shotgun - Mossberg M590 Trench Gun (civilian version of USMC), made 2003, 12 gauge, pump action,
    Sling – M1 nylon sling, black
    Bayonet - OKC 3S USMC bayonet, Ontario Knife Co. w/ scabbard

    Thanks for posting your pictures!
    I enjoyed the way you covered the
    Time periods with you shotguns, bayonets,
    Pouches etc. Not many times are we able to view
    Such a well displayed collection. I understand
    Why you were selected for the award.
