Thread: Krag questions

  1. Default Krag questions

I have a nice Krag which I want to sell.
I would like to know just which parts/stamps/markings etc etc that I need to focus on when posting pictures.
It is the only Krag I have ever owned and it has sat in my (climate controlled) safe for over ten years...unfired.
...never got into Krags much...ergo the questions.
    Thanks
    Ray

    Receiver markings
    Cartouche and firing proof
    Grasping grooves on stock
    Any damage/wear

I'd add muzzle - the previous suggestions would not catch a sporter, and Ray does not state that the piece is in military configuration.

one overall pic of each side, (2 pics)
one of each side of the receiver, (4 pics, top bottom and sides)
one with bolt retracted and one with loading gate open
close up of butt on all 4 sides and butt plate
    cartouche
    foreend, yep, 4 ,
muzzle, one each side, one of crown
rear sight, each side and elevated (front and rear)
if you can get a good shot of the bore,

and be prepared to be asked to take more if needed,

all taken in natural light, preferably outside on a cloudy day or in the shade for best results,
    no flash,

We're it a Garand i would know just what people would look for...(things like "in the white", cut/uncut op rod, the heel area of the stock)...all the small nuance things that set the imagination off.
This however, is a new animal for me.
Anyway, it wil be up on the FS board soon.
