If you are sure it is a Model 1917 (it will indicate which on the butt where the serial number is) it was shipped February 16, 1918 to:

Ordnance Base Depot, U.S. Government, A.E.F. France, Ordnance Base Store #45, Bush Terminal, Brooklyn, N.Y.

No, I am NOT asking about a M1917. If you all will read what I wrote I am asking about a COLT M1909 U.S.ARMY in .45 COLT. These are far fewer than the M1917's.

Sir, it is just that everyone thinks I don't know what I have and they do. If they would just read what I wrote and maybe ask a question before sounding off we would not have had a misunderstanding. Will post a picture of the butt of the revolver.

There was confusion in the thread on what your revolver was, and mistakenly I picked up on that. Only trying to help and didn't mean to set you off.

But, if you read enough the shipping date and destination of your 1909 is available.

I have read that most if not all were shipped to the Philippines. But what happened to them after that. Not that I haven't tried to find info on the 1909, but there is not much out there................

I have the CD with all the records. It appears that there is no information on the M1909 unless it is mixed in with the M1917. Did the M1917 serial numbers pick up where the M1909 left off? I think the only real difference is in the cylinder.

I am pretty sure the M1909 was only made in 1909 and 1910. The M1917's followed in 1917. I would doubt that the S/N's would be mixed in with each other, however they may be.
