Default Scope Mounts for S&W 29-2

Does the frame have to be drilled and threaded? I have a Ruger Redhawk 44mag that I used a Weig-A-tinny no drill scope mount. Was wondering if something like that is available? My S&W 29-2 is a pristine example, so I really do not want to drill it.

B square and maybe someone else made one that fit over the front of the frame, and had a screw part that slide on the back of the frame once the rear sight was removed,
they would sometimes leave a mark on the frame, so be careful

They almost always mark the frame. I don't know if they are still made. B-Square has discontinued a lot of items that were once popular.

I have a 629-4. Not sure of the difference from a -2. It has a leupold scope mount that uses the existing holes for the rear sight
